INTRODUCTION

Designed for Sonus faber Speakers

The GAIA M8 and GAIA Neo M8 Spacers are used together with long M8-1.25 threads on compatible Sonus faber models that have a long front spike for upward tilt angle.

The M8 Spacer and Long M8-1.25 Long threads are used at the front of the speaker. The standard length M8-1.25 threads are used at the back of the speaker and are included with the GAIA’s.

Long M8-1.25 Long threads are provided with the GAIA Neo M8 Spacers, while they are provided separately with the original GAIA M8 Spacers.

Uses and installation

Select the M8 Spacer to fit your speaker:
Overview
  • For compatible Sonus faber speaker installations using the original GAIA Series.
  • The Original GAIA M8 Spacer is designed for select speaker installations using GAIA I, GAIA II, or GAIA III isolators. It provides additional clearance where needed between the speaker and isolator.
  • This version should be selected when installing the original GAIA Series. Long M8-1.25 threads are required separately.

The Original GAIA M8 Spacer is used with the long M8-1.25 threads for compatible Sonus faber speakers that use a long front spike to create an upward tilt angle. The M8 Spacer helps maintain the same tilt angle as the factory long front spikes.

The M8 Spacer and long M8-1.25 threads are installed at the front of the speaker.

The standard length M8-1.25 threads, included with the GAIAs, are installed at the back of the speaker.

Front Installation

  1. Confirm that the speaker model is compatible and that the installation requires the Original GAIA M8 Spacer.
  2. Thread the long M8-1.25 thread tightly into the top of the GAIA housing.
  3. Install the GAIA M8 Spacer onto the long M8-1.25 thread.
  4. Secure the assembly according to the GAIA model being used:
    • For GAIA I, use the bottom knurled lock nut to tighten down against the top of the GAIA housing.
    • For GAIA II and GAIA III, tighten the M8 Spacer directly against the top of the GAIA housing. The knurled lock nut is not required.
  5. Install the top hex lock nut onto the long M8-1.25 thread above the M8 Spacer. Leave a small gap between the lock nut and the M8 Spacer.
  6. Thread the GAIA isolators into the front threaded inserts of the speaker.
  7. Align each GAIA so the IsoAcoustics logo faces the front of the speaker.
  8. Using the included wrench, tighten the top hex lock nut upward against the bottom of the speaker to lock the thread in place.

Rear Installation

  1. At the back of the speaker, use the standard length M8-1.25 threads included with the GAIAs.
  2. Install the rear GAIA isolators following the standard GAIA installation instructions.

  1. Confirm that the speaker is level, stable, and properly supported before use.

The GAIA Neo M8 Spacer is used for the same compatible Sonus faber speaker applications when installing GAIA Neo Series isolators. Use the included long M8-1.25 threads and compression washers supplied with the GAIA Neo M8 Spacer package.

  1. Confirm that the speaker model is compatible and that the installation requires the GAIA Neo M8 Spacer.

  2. Use the included long M8-1.25 threads with the GAIA Neo M8 Spacer at the required mounting locations.

  3. Install the included compression washer as shown in the GAIA Neo M8 Spacer instructions. If the GAIA Neo Cap is used, the compression washer must always be positioned under the cap.

  4. Install the GAIA Neo isolators and confirm the speaker is level, stable, and properly supported.

No. It is only required for compatible speaker installations where additional M8 spacing is needed.

Yes. In select installations where the underside of the component has limited surface area or the compression washer is partially exposed, the GAIA Neo Cap can provide a clean, finished look. When the compression washer is used with the GAIA Neo Cap, it must always be installed under the cap.

If you already own the Original GAIA M8 Spacer, it can be used with the GAIA Neo Cap in compatible installations. For new GAIA Neo installations, use the GAIA Neo M8 Spacer.

No. The M8 Spacer is available only in M8-1.25.
