JBL Cooperates With IsoAcoustics for New Summit Series Models

The JBL Summit Series continues to impress audiophiles, and each of the three new models—Makalu, Pumori, and Ama—features custom isolation feet. Specifically, IsoAcoustics designed and manufactured these feet, thereby providing a solid foundation for the series. Engineers at JBL knew a great speaker needed a great base.

Consequently, they partnered with IsoAcoustics to create the ideal footing for their flagship speakers. Now, as a result of IsoAcoustics’ patented technology, the Summit Series speakers achieve their full potential.

JBL Summit Series: three models with integrated isolation

Named after some of the world’s highest mountains, the JBL Summit Series models all share common features. For example, they include patented JBL compression and dynamic drivers, HDI Sonoglass horns, and MultiCap crossover networks.

More precisely, the Makalu adds a 12-inch and an 8-inch driver to its high-frequency compression driver.

On the other hand, the Pumori features a 10-inch and an 8-inch driver, while the Ama uses a single 8-inch driver. Ultimately, the IsoAcoustics isolation feet help all three models deliver remarkable power and clarity.

Controlling the power of the JBL Summit Series

High-performance speakers, like those in the JBL Summit Series, generate significant forces. Therefore, you must control these forces to optimize the sound. To illustrate, IsoAcoustics’ patented technology absorbs unwanted vibrations that could otherwise color the audio. Furthermore, the isolators prevent the speakers from moving or oscillating too freely, which, in turn, would alter the sound. These specially designed feet control speaker movement and mitigate the transmission of unwanted energy. Consequently, this results in improved stereo imaging and transparency.

Custom design based on GAIA Neo

The isolators on the JBL Summit Series are custom versions of the IsoAcoustics GAIA Neo. This cutting-edge technology isolates the Makalu, Pumori, and Ama from the floor. As a result, it eliminates the negative effects of vibrations and reflections on sound quality. The design was carefully adapted to match the speakers in both aesthetics and performance. Indeed, this collaboration truly ensures the JBL Summit Series can reach its full potential.

Why JBL and other manufacturers trust in IsoAcoustics

The IsoAcoustics approach is grounded in science. In fact, this is confirmed by experiments from the National Research Council of Canada. IsoAcoustics’ years of experience and reproducible results have led to collaborations with many renowned brands, including Marten, Perlisten, and Sonus faber—and of course, JBL.
