At IsoAcoustics we are often asked how the Aperta Series compares to the ISO-Stand Series. Although the Aperta and ISO-Stand series look and function similarly, there are some key differences to consider to make the right choice for you and your speakers.
Build
The Aperta has taken a further step forward in terms of design, aesthetics, quality and performance. The Aperta is made with a much stronger and more rigid cast aluminum frame and includes a new version of our patented isolator, which has improved performance. The Aperta Series’ sculpted frame is slimmer and sleeker thanks to the strength and rigidity of aluminum. The ISO-Stand’s frames are made of high-impact ABS and the poles are made of stainless steel with a black powder finish.
The Apertas are available in black or aluminum, while the ISO-Stands are only available in black.
Tilt adjustment
ISO stands can adjust both height and tilt, while Aperta stands only offer tilt adjustment.
ISO mounts were designed primarily for near-field monitors, which are typically positioned closer to the listening position, so height adjustment is often necessary to focus the speakers at ear level. To optimize speaker placement for a correct listening position, each ISO-Stand kit comes with 2 different lengths of tubular inserts to offer 14 variations of height and tilt adjustment.
On the other hand, the Aperta series is more often used with bookshelf and center channel speakers, which are traditionally positioned further away from the listener. The Aperta does not have the ability to adjust the height because, in a typical home audio environment, the greater distance between the listening position and the speakers allows the tilt to be adjusted sufficiently. Aperta stands also feature a unique built-in tilt adjustment that allows you to select the height much more precisely to correctly “dial in” the desired angle.

Sizing
Both the ISO-Stand series and the Aperta series offer different models to accommodate small, medium and large speakers. While the Aperta and Aperta200 stands are similar in size and weight capacity to the ISO-155 and ISO-200 stands respectively, other stands in the series are better suited to certain speakers. For example, the ISO-130 stand is smaller and can be used for speakers or monitors that are too small for the Aperta or ISO-150 stands.
